Are prepaid purchase cards good option?

I'm trying to figure out is a prepaid card is a good option for me, or should I better go with a debit or secured credit card?

If you do not have access to a traditional checking account, a prepaid card can be your first choice – they do not require a credit check and provide a quick and easy application experience. However, prepaid cards have certain disadvantages: high fees, regular issues with customer service, usually no credit building feature for a customer. A good option is Account Now card that reports to the credit bureaus and help you to establish a credit history.
