Could you give some tips how to get the first credit card after a college? Is a student credit card still an option?

The basic rule is to apply for a non student card after you secure a regular source of income after graduation and have earned a good to excellent credit score.
A regular (non student) card usually carries lower APR and higher credit limit.

High credit limit is not for overspending - it can be wisely used to boost your credit score by keeping your debt utilisation as low as 7-10%- this trick will help you to quicky grow your score.
