First, let’s say it out loud – the card has up to $14.95 monthly fee and it is a lot.

There are three plans on this card:

• $9.95 per month
• $14.95 per month
• And the one with no monthly fee that has a $1 fee for every transaction on the card.

Honestly, there is nothing that this card can offer for that huge fee. The only reason to get a prepaid card is if you have a bad credit history and cannot get approval for a real credit card. But the problem is that prepaid cards don’t help you rebuild your credit because they do not report to credit bureaus as a credit card.

It is usually better to consider getting a good secured credit card or a card for people with no credit like Capital One Platinum. If your credit situation is not that bad, you can try applying for a Discover card.

If you need a card just for paying for purchases, consider getting a checking account with a debit card attached to it – there are a lot of options with no annual fee.
