Editors Review

A card issued by MetaBank. All details are similar to NetSend card or ACE Elite cards. 3 plans available:

Pay-As-You-Go

  • No monthly fee
  • Transaction fee- $1 per every signature transaction, 2$ per every PIN transaction

FeeAdvantage

  • $9.95 monthly fee
  • No transaction fees

Direct Deposit FeeAdvantage Plan

  • $5 monthly fee
  • No transaction fees
  • Need to receive at least $500 direct deposit in one month to qualify for a plan

Automatically a pay-as-you-go plan is activated, to change a plan you need to call or go online

Pros

  • No credit check
  • You can send money worldwide via Western Union and receive money on the card

Cons

  • Heavy fees for card usage

Verdict

It is usually better to get a free checking account than a prepaid card. The fees associated with the card usage are much more than you will be charged for most debit cards linked to a checking account.
